Source: NEW REMENDER-WRITTEN SERIES SPINNING OUT OF MARVEL'S "AXIS"
Speaking through Marvel’s A-#1 PR firm, Comic Book Recourses, Rick Remender announced that he would be writing a new comic book for Marvel after this month’s event, AXIS. I’m sorry, my bad, I forgot Marvel renamed the event because they think we are all stupid, I meant to say “after this month’s event, Avengers & X-Men AXIS. From CBR:
While promoting the second act of the upcoming "AXIS" event -- "Inversion," which promises a "recalibration of the Marvel Universe's moral compass" -- Marvel Comics and Rick Remender have announced an as-yet untitled new series slated to debut in the wake of the events of the latest Avengers and X-Men-starring epic.
I, for one, cannot wait to read Remender’s legendary middle school level of understanding of complex issues as it relates to the "lasting ramifications” (at least until next month’s event) of Avengers & X-Men AXIS. Readers may remember Remender's deep understanding of race (mutant hood) and how it relates to identity, not to mention continuity, and his totally mature response to valid criticism. Oh, you don’t, well here you go:
Heads up-- If Havok's position in UA #5 really upset you, it's time to drown yourself hobo piss. Seriously, do it. It's the only solution.— Rick Remender (@Remender) March 28, 2013
Ahhh, good times.
And now for the same spiel we’ve all read for the past ten (+) years:
According to Remender, the legacy of "AXIS" on the Marvel U will be "lasting ramifications," some of which will lead directly to the aforementioned series. "That's what makes these ongoing stories a lot of fun in the interconnected universe," the writer said. "'AXIS' will lead to a whole new book that I'm writing that will have a number of characters who are very changed from the story. I don't want to give anything away, but the Inversion isn't going to be completely wrapped up. There's not going to be a perfect bow on this story by the end of things. It'll be a nice conclusion to the immediate threat, but there will be some very interesting aspects of the Inversion moving forward into new stories in the Marvel Universe in a handful of titles."
I’m sorry, dear readers, its hard for me to take this seriously since just a few weeks ago Marvel said that the characterizations in AXIS are so interchangeable that one goblin was switched out for another at the last moment, with no real consequences to the story. Makes one wonder if The Hobgoblin was initially supposed to be in Remender's new book.
While Remender gave no further details about the new series, he did tease "a bigger spotlight" for a villain coming out of "AXIS," with designs by his "Uncanny X-Force" collaborator Jerome Opena.
So Remender isn’t giving you any more information, and you make no mention of characters in the text of your article but you just happened to have this gif handy?
I’m sure the two are unrelated.
It doesn’t even matter anyways, we’ll all read AXIS, and if the image above is true, I’ll have an inner fanboy battle over whether or not to buy a book Deadpool is in (a requirement) even though the automatic disqualification that is Iron Man is also a part of the book.
Who am I kidding, its Deadpool, I’ll read it.
Fuck, I’ll even buy Avengers & X-Men AXIS because now I know it might include Deadpool. I think I need stronger meds.
No release date has been announced for MARVEL SOON: Uncanny All New Avengers Force, or whatever the book will be called.
Is it vodka time yet?
