Here's some news from Oni Press regarding The Outhouse's favorite genetically engineered super-writer, Cullen Bunn. From a press release:
Oni Press regrets to announce the departure of colorist Jordie Bellaire but is excited to welcome aboard Dave Stewart to HELLBREAK, the upcoming creator-owned series by the superstar team of writer Cullen Bunn (The Sixth Gun, Helheim, The Damned,) and artist Brian Churilla (The Secret History of D.B. Cooper, Big Trouble in Little China).
Uh oh! Wonder what happened there? I don't want to start any rumors, but my sources are telling me it had something do with Bellaire's Best Colorist Eisner Award, a gallon of cat urine, and a lifesize cardboard cutout of Shia LaBeouf. Remember, you heard it here first! Suck on that, Rich Johnston!
In any case, while Jordie Bellaire is an artist of the highest caliber, so is Dave Stewart, so we expect the book to be just as awesome, if a little different. However, the changes will push the book's debut back to March of 2015, which means Oni needs to fill the fall gap.
Luckily, they've got just the thing - ANOTHER Bunn-written series, Terrible Lizard, debuting in November:
Drawn by veteran creatureweaver Drew Moss (The Crow: Pestilence, The Colonized, In the Dark) with colors by the up-and-coming-and-unstoppable Ryan Hill (Stumptown, Judge Dredd: Mega City Two), TERRIBLE LIZARD tells the story of the sweet, idyllic relationship between a little girl and her best friend… a gigantic, fearsome Tyrannosaurus Rex!
Here at The Outhouse, we can never get enough Cullen Bunn. We even invented a special pastry to celebrate how much we love the Sixth Gun creator! So check out Terrible Lizard in November, keep your eyes peeled for Hellbreak in March, and consider donating some money to the Jordie Bellaire Eisner cat urine dry cleaning fund so we can all put this terrible mess behind us and move on like mature adults who don't start irresponsible rumors on comic book blogs.
