Chris Hemsworth to Join Cast of Vacation Reboot?

He's in talks to play Audrey Griswold's husband in the movie, which relaunches the Vacation franchise for a new generation.

The reboot to the Vacation franchise, with Ed Helms playing a grown Rusty Griswold, whose family will be the focus of the film, is set to start filming next month, but there are still some actors joining the cast. According to the Hollywood Reporter, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Charlie Day and Thor and Avengers actor Chris Hemsworth are in talks to join the cast. Day will reportedly cameo in the film as a rafting instructor, while Hemsworth will play Stone Crandall, a TV anchorman and husband of Rusty's sister Audrey. Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo will appear as the elder Griswolds in the film, while Christina Applegate plays Rusty's wife.

My feelings are mixed on a Vacation reboot. On the one hand, the first three movies are classics and reboots are the work of the devil. On the other hand, since it appears to be a soft reboot, shifting the focus of the franchise to a newer generation while keeping the old movies in continuity, I can live with it. Besides, if anyone is gonna measure up to the hotness of past Vacation supporting stars like Christy Brinkley, it's gotta be Hemsworth. Observe:

Yeah, he's worthy. It's a close one, but Hemsworth definitely has better pecs. We'll keep you updated on Thor eventually punching out Chevy Chase for being a dick on set.
