Marvel may have found its next big superhero. According to the latest rumors, a moderately known white actor best known for his role in a critically acclaimed television show and/or movie may be cast as the lead in the next Marvel film, which hasn't been formally announced yet. While better known actors were also rumored to be in consideration, Marvel seems to be sticking to their formula of casting lesser known, but well liked, white actors as the stars of their superhero films.
No word on whether Marvel has approached any actors or actresses for supporting roles, but it's widely believed that the cast will include one minority actor and one actress in supporting roles. However, it's also possible that Marvel will cast one minority actress in a supporting role, thus allowing them to fulfill both quotas with even more efficiency.
Fans of the actor and the critically acclaimed television show/movie he once starred in are already praising the casting, calling it a bold move and praising Marvel for its forward thinking casting choices.
