Source: Patrick Warburton Set to Return in The Tick
The Tick is returning!!!!
No wait, not that one, THIS ONE:
Yes, the equally cult classic live-action series that starred Patrick Warburton in the titular role. People is reporting that a source close to them says that a deal has been set for Warburton to reprise the role, Ben Edlund (creator) to be back on as producer/writer, and for the series to live again on Amazon.
Of course People so gets wrong WHEN the series aired (WRITER'S NOTE: then again maybe whomever wrote the article went to the same school I did in learning how to write. Wait.. what if I WROTE THE ARTICLE in a drunken binge?! *shifty eyes* NAAAH!! Then again it would explain the numerous People magazines always appearing on the coffee table.)
The cult-classic series is based on a comic book by Ben Edlund and was first brought to television as an animated series that enjoyed three seasons of success in the mid 1990s. In early 2012, Fox canceled Warburton's live-action version (which also starred a pre-Lost Nestor Carbonell) after just nine episodes.
The truth is the show ACTUALLY aired from late 2001 to early 2002. It did air only nine episodes before Fox axed it, because they don't like nice things. We'll be keeping tabs on this developing story to see if there's any actual truth or if it's just a well devised evil plan concocted by some dastardly fiend.
