Geoff Johns Forever Evil Signing Event Press Release Reads Like Parody

Johns will be signing copies of "truly the most epic crossover event of all time" at a Barnes and Noble in L.A.

DC published a press release on their website yesterday advertising a Geoff Johns book signing event at a Barnes and Noble in L.A. (presumably the last Barnes and Noble in the world that hasn't gone out of business yet). Referring to Johns as a "New York Times best selling writer," the press release hints that Johns' appearance will be so popular they might not be able to meet the demand ("while supplies last") and then goes on to call Forever Evil "truly the most epic crossover event of all time." They even have the balls to hype this book as "collected for the first time ever in hardcover," as if the comic was a long last classic that is finally coming back to print, and not a storyline that wrapped up like last month, and as if every single comic ever doesn't get released in hardcover on this exact same schedule. And as if the story wasn't a complete load of horse shit. And all of that is just in the first sentence.

Here it is in all its hyperbolic glory. If you live in L.A., be sure to stop by Barnes and Noble and tell Geoff The Outhouse says hello.

This coming Tuesday, September 9, Los Angeles area fans will have the opportunity to hear from Join legendary New York Times best-selling writer Geoff Johns as he discusses and signs (while supplies last!) copies of his now infamous storyline FOREVER EVIL – truly the most epic crossover event of all time – which has now been collected for the first time ever in hardcover.

This exciting signing event will take place at the Barnes & Noble store located at The Grove (189 Grove Dr, Los Angeles) beginning at 7PM. A Q&A with Johns will precede the signing.

About FOREVER EVIL -- The Justice League is dead! And the villains shall inherit the Earth! In this new hardcover graphic novel collecting FOREVER EVIL #1-7, the Crime Syndicate takes over the DC Universe, and no one can stand in the way of them and complete domination – no one except for Lex Luthor! By New York Times #1 best-selling creators Geoff Johns and David Finch, FOREVER EVIL is the first universe-wide crossover of The New 52.

For more information, contact Barnes & Noble at The Grove at (323) 525-0270.

That pull quote from the Nerdist pales in comparison to "a complete load of horse shit. - The Outhouse"
