New Pixels Movie Character Posters

Are you ready for the (more than) 8-bit 80s invasion?

Sony Pictures has released (purposefully this time) some promotional poster images for its upcoming videogame-themed movie, Pixels. If that name sounds familiar, then you may have seen the short video posted online with the same name by Patrick Jean the film is based on. The video shows videogame characters from (mostly) the 80's bursting forth from an old television to invade our world.

With a larger budget and apparently buy-in from the companies that produced those videogames originally, the film will now invade theater screens next year. Here's the posters revealed today:

Pixels will be a live-action/animated hybrid movie starring Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Josh Gad, and Peter Dinklage.

Since this reporter has a less-than-great opinion on that first name, perhaps he'll just stay home and watch 2002's Futurama episode "Anthology of Interest II" which features th videogame themed "Raiders of the Lost Arcade". Or maybe play some games.

We'll see when the movie opens on July 24, 2015.
