Emma Rios and Brandon Graham announced two collaborative projects today at Image Expo.  The first, 8House: Mirror, is a new series written by Rios and illustrated by Hwei Lim.  Taking place in the shared "8House universe", Mirror is described by Image's website as:

[S]et in an isolated colony growing around a landed lab starship. In this safe haven, magicians and scientists of the House of Healers experiment with the satellite's local fauna to create man/animal "hybrids," obtaining insight to utilize in a desperate cosmic war and win political favor. But a growing community of hybrids want nothing to do with war or politics, and especially not with their patronizing human creators; only to live on their own, as they are.

Graham also promoted his previously announced 8House: Arclight miniseries, which will be illustrated by Marian Churchland, Graham's wife and creator who was actually willing to talk to the Outhouse waaaay back in 2009.  According to Image's website, Arclight is "a four-issue story following a noble woman who believes she is permanently trapped in an alien body. Until she hears of the alien being living in her body has returned, taking over the noble woman's old life.".

Speaking to Graham and Rios at Image Expo, Graham confirmed that the 8house series would be set in a shared universe, with additional miniseries by other creators on the way.  Each miniseries is planned to run 4 issues, but will be independent from one another.

Graham and Rios also announced a new comics magazine titled Island that the pair are spearheading.  The oversized magazine will contain both fullsized comics and prose pieces, and was described at the event as "like Heavy Metal, but not for teenage boys".  Rios will release a new four chapter comic called ID in the first issue of Island, and the magazine will also feature the return of Graham's Multiple Warheads.  Other creators such as Michael DeForge will appear in future issues.
