We already mentioned that Daniel Brühl would be joining the cast of 2016's Captain America: Civil War. At the time though, what role he would play was a mystery. Well if comicbookmovie.com and casting call site moviecastingcall.org are to be believed, Brühl will be playing that old purple sock-headed master of evil, Baron Zemo (though which Zemo was not specified).
Here's the relevant passage from castingcall.org:
Starring in Captain America: Civil War is People's Choice Awards winner Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America. Also starring is four-time Golden Globe Award nominee Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Critics Choice Television Awards nominee Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, two-time Academy Award nominee Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow/Crossbones, two-time Black Reel Awards nominee Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa/Black Panther. Golden Globe Award nominee Daniel Brühl has joined the cast as Baron Zemo.
So, is this real? Not sure, but it sounds good to us. Perhaps after dealing with Thanos, the Masters of Evil can take over Avengers Mansion or Avengers Tower or whatever. Or you know if the good guys take each other out, a certain other group lead by a Zemo could fill that vacuum…
As usual, we want to hear what you think, so sound off in the comments. You have until May 6, 2016 when Captain America: Civil War tears into theaters.
