Dynamite, Gail Simone to Launch All-Female Super-Mega-Crossover Event Called Swords of Sorrow

To demonstrate Dynamite's dedication to female empowerment, less than half the covers feature characters showing off their boobs and butts at the same time!

Dynamite apparently sent out a press release today (we didn't get it, even though we normally do get their stuff) announcing a brand new super-mega-crossover event starring the company's female pulp heroes and featuring an all-star roster of female creators including Gail SimoneNanch A. Collins, Mairghread Scott, G. Willow Wilson, Erica Schultz, Leah Moore, Marguerite Bennett, Emma Beeby, and Mikki Kendall. The main event book, called Swords of Sorrow, will be written by Gail Simone with art by Sergio Davila, and will star the likes of Red SonjaVampirella, Dejah Thoris, Kato, and Jungle Girl. Here's a quote from Gail Simone about the process behind this crossover:

Here’s the thing: I love pulp adventure, always have. But as male-dominated as comics have often been, the pulp adventure world seems to be even more so. Most of the big name stars and creators are dudes, and that’s fine, it’s great. But it hit me… what if that wasn’t the case? What if adventure pulps had also been written with female readers in mind, and awesome female characters in the spotlight? That’s the scenario we are imagining, and it’s just been a blast. The key players are Red Sonja, Vampirella, and Dejah Thoris, but it’s such an epic-spanning, world-hopping event that we also have Kato, Jungle Girl, Lady Rawhide, Jennifer Blood, and so many more. It’s the crossover I dreamed of when I was a kid, and now we get to make it happen.”

And now, to celebrate all this female empowerment, here's eleven covers featuring forty-nine gigantic, mostly exposed breasts. Hey, Rome wasn't built in a day.
