The Secret Wars event promises to be a huge upheaval to the Marvel Universe, spinning off to many titles to try to contain its expanse. There may be too many things happening in Battleworld to make a title for all of them, so there will be a couple of anthologies published to cover this. One of these anthologies is Secret Wars Journal and in its first issue coming in May, we'll get to visit Egyptia and view the mutant struggle against Khonshu. Here's the solicitation for the title:

Luca Pizzari will be illustrating the Egyptia story and designed all of the "X-Bedouin". He shared a bunch of his design sketches and notes on how he approached designing the characters.
Here's the overlord Khonshu, usually associated with Moon Knight, as she will appear in Secret Wars Journal #2. She is described as being pitch black aside from her eyes, lashes, and fingernails to appear otherworldly.
If you thought Wolverine died, then Secret Wars will change your mind. He'll be appearing in several titles under different guises. He's referred to as Logan here and has a big scar on his face that for some reason never really healed.
On character cited as not being usable in this series (no reason was specified) was Storm. Luca gave some of his ideas for that character to Nightcrawler in the form of trial scarigication.
Luca says to look at subtle calls to Colossus' original costume in his Egyptia guise. The artist refers to him as "Piotr".
Kitty Pryde, aka. Pryde also echoes her original look. Luca cites the 80s Claremont era as his favorite.
It looks like Marc Spector's (Spector) life may have changed early on, as he seems to have been bit by Werewolf By Night. He's sporting a sort of Assassin's Creed/Jack of Hearts look in Egyptia.
Luca designed many X-characters for this story. Below is a page with several designs including some for Archangel, Gambit, Sebastian Shaw/Sentinel, and .
Several character sketches were provided without description…
