Like a Cockroach: First Look at

Wolverine is the best he is at what he does, and what he does is rip off the plot of old Clint Eastwood movies.

Well, it was nice while it lasted, wasn't it? When Marvel first announced plans to kill off Wolverine, nobody believed his death would last a year. Sure enough, it wasn't long before Secret Wars was announced and we learned that the super-mega-crossover event would be an opportunity for Marvel to bring back characters from various points in their history and select the most profitable and marketable ones to become part of the not-a-reboot Marvel Universe after the event. Of course, that meant we were likely to see quite a few Wolverines make appearances, and here's your first one, Old Man Logan.

"The Great One" Brian Bendis writes the story this time around instead of Scottish national hero Mark Millar, but Millar doesn't mind, having told The Outhouse, "Ah didnae think thare wis muckle mair material tae be mined fae ripping aff Unforgiven again. Ah wis bonny sure ah bilked fans oot o' a maiter o ah cuid whin ah pat oot th' final issue wi' a cost increase fur na additional value. Bit awright, if Brian kin mak' it wirk, mair power tae him. A've git some movie pitches... er, ah mean, comic book scripts tae write masell. "

Andrea Sorrentino provides the art. Wolverine won't be officially "back" from the dead until the book hits stores, but it looks like the counter at "Is Wolverine Still" will need to be updated before the end of the summer. :(

Here's the press release and a preview:
