It looks like the leak was legitimate. Just over a year ago, Disney Infinity 2.0 was announced which brought the Marvel Universe to the "toys to life" videogame and toy hybrid. Today Disney Infinity 3.0 was revealed and it brings to the party a new franchise: Star Wars.

Game Informer unveiled the cover for its June issue which features Disney Infinity 3.0 and it's big get, Star Wars:

Game Informer also had an introductory video for the product:

The official Star Wars page (and it's Twitter feed) also had it's share of coverage of Disney Infinity 3.0 and naturally the larger focus was on its Star Wars aspect.

There will be a Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition Starter Pack with an MSRP of $64.99 which will feature the Star Wars characters Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano. Three Star Wars themed Play Sets will be released: one representing the era of Episodes I-III (Twilight of the Republic), one representing Episodes IV-VI (Rise Against the Empire), and in the Winter a Play Set for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Each of the Star Wars Play Sets offers distinct experiences, with varied gameplay, environments, and characters. The Star Wars: Twilight of the Republic Play Set takes place during the height of the Jedi’s powers, where players will use the Force and lightsabers in epic battles and master their combat skills alongside Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and Darth Maul. The Star Wars: Rise Against the Empire Play Set will take players on galaxy-spanning missions with Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia Organa, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Darth Vader, piloting X-wing fighters or the Millennium Falcon to fight stormtroopers, or exploring and partaking in land-based missions on planets like Tatooine, Hoth, and Endor. Additionally, fans will have the unique opportunity to play with all of the Star Wars characters in all of the Star Wars Play Sets.

The site also featured a few screenshots from the game:

The website reminds you (the Game Informer cover touches on this too) that it is a Disney game and gives some information on other Disney characters. There will be a Play Set based on Disney•Pixar's Summer film Inside Out. Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger, and Disgust will be playable characters. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Mulan, and Olaf will also be available in the Toy Box in version 3.0.
