Last month the names of some of the first wave of Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens sets were revealed. None of the names were terribly revealing, but two of those sets had their boxart revealed: Poe's X-Wing Fighter (75102) and Millennium Falcon (75105).
Neither of these are terribly revealing, but there may be some tiny surprises in each set. We saw both Poe (presumably) piloting an X-Wing and the Millennium Falcon in both the teaser and second trailer, but maybe the Lego sets can tell us more…
Here's the packaging for Poe's X-Wing Fighter:
If you were paying attention to the media that X-Wing looks different from the other shots we've seen, for instance in the teaser trailer:
Or the vanity Fair shoot:
Now you might just attribute the difference in color to clever editing or just the nature of a photoshoot, but the color of the engines of the X-Wing he is piloting in the trailers look different than the Lego toy.
So does this mean Poe Dameron may pilot more than one X-Wing? Why? There are rumors about that…
Like any good modern Lego set, Poe's X-Wing Fighter comes with several minfigs.
Though interesting, the black X-Wing is not really new, but it's a rumor confirmed.
We've seen the Millenium Falcon attached to Star Wars: The Force Awakens early on, so the toy itself is not a surprise. It looks similar to previous Lego incarnations of the craft, this time of course sporting a rectangular dish:
What's interesting about this set though are the minifigs included…
You get your standard old Han Solo and Chewbacca, plus new characters Finn and Rey, and like in the X-Wing set you get an adorable BB-8. What's new here are the Kanjiklub Gang Member and a character named Tasu Leech. Who are these characters? It's not immediately known, but their inclusion into the set does line up with rumors that won't be spoiled here.
So what do you think? Interested in either of these sets?
This writer has to get himself a BB-8 minfig!
These sets should be available on #ForceFriday, September 4. The answers to our questions about these toys hits theaters December 18.
