Fear not, viewers who were afraid DC Comics television shows would encompass The CW's entire broadcasting schedule! According to a totally real, we-shit-you-not report from Deadline, the network is developing a TV show out of the novel Little Women, and they're applying every horrible tactic they learned from the comic book industry to the project. Here's the description of the show:
...a hyper-stylized, gritty adaptation of the 1868 novel by Louisa May Alcott, in which disparate half-sisters Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy band together in order to survive the dystopic streets of Philadelphia and unravel a conspiracy that stretches far beyond anything they have ever imagined – all while trying not to kill each other in the process.
It sounds like parody, but we assure you, that is the actual description from a reputable website. It is unknown whether Jim Lee will design the sisters' costumes, but sources close to the production promise The Outhouse that Geoff Johns will be involved in the creative and someone is going get their arms ripped off, and Aquaman will probably make an appearance. It is also unknown whether everyone involved in this was incredibly high on cocaine while coming up with the idea, but based on the evidence, we feel it can be reasonably assumed.
We probably won't keep you updated on this because it's not really in our wheelhouse, having nothing at all to do with comics, but you never know, this is off to a promising start as far as epic clusterfucks go, and that is definitely in our wheelhouse. Stay tuned.
