In a headline even more misleading than the time they claimed that Invincible Iron Man #1 sold 200,000 copies as if actual people had bought them and not retailers, ComicBook.com published an article today headlined "Batman V. Superman Screening Gets Standing Ovation, Affleck Getting Long Term Deal." Of course, what ComicBook.com neglected to mention was that the rumored "screening" consisted of a few high level Warner Bros. executives, not a theater packed with fans.
In any case, if the rumor is true, Warner Bros. is very pleased with their Batfleck and hope to build the DC Cinematic Universe around him in the future. I hope it works out for them, because their comics business could really use a boost. Maybe ComicBook.com should publish an article headlined DC Comics Beats Marvel in July Sales Numbers, only to reveal inside that they beat them at selling less comics.
