'Titans Return' Will Be The 2nd Part Of A Multi-Format 'Transformers' Trilogy

Combiner Wars was the start…

Though it wasn't really announced as such, it looks like the Transformers Combiner Warsstoryline was just the first part in a trilogy collectively known as Prime Wars. Though the Combiner Wars comic line wrapped up recently, the toyline continues on and animated series is on the way. All of this should be done by Summer 2016 when the next chapter debuts.

The second chapter in the Prime Wars trilogy will be called Titans Return and will feature:

"… the biggest Transformers robots in existence, fan-favorite Sentinel Prime and the return of a beloved action feature from the '80s: robots that convert into heads for bigger robots."

Like Combiner Wars, the theme will carry on through comics, the Generation line of toys, and videogames. The trilogy will conclude in late 2017 or 2018 with the third, currently untitled, chapter of Prime Wars.

It sounds like Titans Return will add a third Transformers title to the IDW comics line currently composed of Transformers and Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye. This third title may feature the female Transformers Windblade (who had her own miniseries during Combiner Wars) and the combiner teamVictorion. Writer John Barber gives a hint about this direction towards Transformers diversity:

"Our demo for our readership is incredibly diverse but it's pretty close to being half men and half women"

Correction: Outhouse's #1 Transformers fan SuperGinraiX (he's also Outhouse's #2 Michael Bay fan, sorry Super Zechs has that one locked up) pointed out that this third title was announced back in July by Barber:

The title was tweeted as "Till All Are One" and will be by writer Mairghread Scott and artist Sara Pitre-Durocher. Not sure if it will involved farming tools, but it is said to continue Windblade's story. The new title flies onto shelves March 2016. /Correction

So take heart Transformers fans, there are other things you can occupy yourselves with for a few years while your childhood is devastated in theaters.
