According to The Beat, Vice President of Sales Alan Payne has stepped down from his position at IDW to pursue a personal mission of revenge. Payne first joined the company in 2007 after receiving a tip that the comic book publishing operation was a front for running the designer drug Valkyr. His time at the company helped spearhead IDW's success in the competitive bookstore market, but was plagued with terrible nightmares and drug-induced hallucinations. While at IDW, Payne was known for his keen negotiating skills, commitment to the company, and ability to slow down time to dodge bullets.
"It has been a great and rewarding nine years at IDW," said Payne. "IDW has the best staff in the business, and I was privileged to be a part of it. I've made lifelong relationships, and will always value the time I spent there."
It is unknown what Payne's plans are next, but sources tell The Outhouse that he may have received a tip on the location of Jack Lupino, an underboss in the Punchinello crime family who ordered the hit on his family. We'll keep you updated.
