In an interview with Collider last week, Deadpool director Tim Miller confirmed that movie Deadpool will be pansexual, defined as "not limited in sexual choice with regard to biological sex, gender, or gender identity:"
Can you talk about the tantalizing fireside photo that you guys put out. Does this mean it will be a very hypersexualized Deadpool?
Miller: Pansexual! I want that quoted. Pansexual Deadpool.
The news was well received by comics Twitter, but it probably didn't sit well with Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld, who is still stinging from learning that his character Shatterstar is gay:
I have nothing against gays, I have gay family, nuthin' but love here. Ditto gay characters if that's what their true origins are.
As the guy that created, designed and wrote his first dozen appearances, Shatterstar is not gay. Sorry. Can't wait to someday undo this. Seems totally contrived.
Shortly after the interview with Miller was published, with Twitter abuzz with cheer, a grinch-like Liefeld tweeted:

Of course, that subtweet is exceptionally vague and could refer to any number of things upsetting the superstar artist on a daily basis. However, today, Liefeld took to twitter with an even clearer, if more passive-aggressive, statement:

Liefeld recently announced an upcoming comics project at Marvel. Will he finally have a chance to re-take control of one of his maligned characters and make it clear that they are totally straight and bang tons of hot babes with 2 inch waists and feathered hair on the regular?

We'll have to wait and see.
