Frank Miller's third Dark Knight story, Dark Knight III: Inappropriate Nazi Reference, was expected to be the final tale in the Dark Knight saga, but Frank Miller has thrown the comics world for a loop by announcing that he will return to the franchise for another sequel in the future. The story, from an interview on Newsarama, reveals another shocking twist that will rock comics internet to its very core, and no, it's not that Newsarama published something besides a top five listicle! The article appears to claim that Brian Azzarello wrote Dark Knight III by himself, despite Miller being listed first in the credits and the story being promoted as Miller's return to the franchise:
And although DK III is being written by Brian Azzarello with art by Andy Kubert and Klaus Janson, Miller indicated he's writing the next one solo.
"I thoroughly applaud what [Brian's] doing. But now that he's doing his, it's now a four-part series," Miller told Newsarama on Monday. "I'm doing the fourth."
Miller indicated he was aware of Azzarello's story, and he emphasized that he supported it. However, he said that after he reads DK3 in full, he intends to create his own fourth chapter (although he did not indicate whether he'd both write and draw the book).
The full interview is expected to hit the web later today, so we'll keep you updated when we have more info on this emerging drama.
