Marvel Television head and cartoon Satan Jeph Loeb appeared on CBR to address all those nasty Iron Fist rumors, saying:
"There was a lot of speculation about what was going on with 'Iron Fist,' because [fans] hadn't heard anything about it, but there's never been any change at all," Loeb told CBR. When asked if fans can expect news in the near future on a star or showrunner, Loeb responded, "The short answer is, 'Yes, there'll be news."
Loeb went on to say that Marvel purposely held back on releasing news about Iron Fist in order to allow Jessica Jones to take the spotlight, though we're not sure how that makes much sense, since there has been news about all the other Netflix shows, including Luke Cage and Daredevil Season 2. But executives never lie, and Loeb said:
"We knew exactly what we were doing at Marvel and at Netflix," Loeb said. "Let's get ['Jessica Jones'] out there, everybody knows that 'Luke Cage' is up and going. What I can say right now is we're very excited about 'Iron Fist.'"
While we have no idea whether or not Iron Fist has encountered any difficulties, the calculated corporate spin from Loeb and Joe Quesada rubs us the wrong way. Is it that hard to just say "the rumors are false?" And why is everyone at Marvel always so "excited" about everything? Are they all taking drugs? Whatever the case, Jessica Jones is so good, we're gonna let this nonsense slide for now and just go back to watching that.
