12 People checked their phones, but I think I found something.

I went into this thinking, a nice change of pace, that I would not have enough to dissect in a 2 and a half hour film to stretch 30 posts. I no longer have fear. This movie is batshit insane and I want to you to take my hand as I take a walk through the same film differently over and over again for 30 days in a row.

Because they offered it and I want to know why.

The following post carries no plot spoilers for the film.

This is Day 3.

Something positive today: all the sounds. This film did something better than the Dark Knight. Whispers were audible. Which makes no sense between explosions, but its very appreciated. The foley work is great. I could hear the dialogue for the most part. Mostly.

The scoring did not ape previous movies. It had its own. Hard violins and guitar doodlie-doos. It kept up with the schizophrenic pacing of the film. I would reccomed checking out the soundtrack if you're one of those kinds of weirdos. Hans delivered on his part for the most part. Mostly.

There were some parts of the film where the sound just flat dropped for 30 seconds... only to pick up again. This movie is scored completely to the Hans-meister, except when it isn't. And those parts become jarring.

There was a point 40 minutes in that I barely caught when Bruce Wayne was talking. Something popped up so briefly, I wouldnt have noticed and i suspect no one in the audience did at all. I will have to pay extra attention to it next time. Join me tomorrow to hear about my fourth viewing of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
