RUMOR: New Mutants Movie Gets Its First Mutants

Look forward to more mutants with familiar Game of Thrones faces.

In the first bit of casting "news" regarding New Mutants, three roles have been cast in Alexandra Shipp as Storm coming from X:Men Apocalypse, Anya Taylor-Joy as Magik, and Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane. Williams follows her fellow Game of Thrones co-star Sophie Turner into the X-Men franchise. Turner's Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan's Cyclops, and Kodi Smit-Mcphee's Nightcrawler are all rumored to also make the leap from X:Men Apocalypse into New Mutants.

Since Fox is seemingly casting the X-men franchise from the Game of Thrones IMDB page, The Outhouse is proud to announce the rest of the New Mutants lineup: Jack Gleeson as Cannonball, Kit Harrington as Warpath, Jacob Anderson as Bedlam, Natalie Dormer as Feral, Emilia Clarke as Boom Boom, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, John Bradley-West as Leech, Gwendoline Christie as Mirage, Alfie Allen as Cypher, Isaac Hempstead Wright as Rictor, Rose Leslie as Blink, Richard Madden as Sunspot, Sean Bean as Boromir, Pedro Pascal as Forge, Rory McCann as Warlock, Sibel Kekilli as Dilara, Iwan Rheon as Shatterstar, Aidan Gillen as Pete Wisdom, and Charles Dance as Tywin Lannister.

The news, which has been reported unironically by several "legitimate" websites like IGN (and was first reported yesterday, FYI) comes via an EXXXCLUSIVE report from Hitfix's Drew McWeeny, and though we'd normally be hesitant to trust this kind of unsubstantiated rumor, we figure a guy with a name like Drew McWeeny has enough problems without making himself look foolish by posting made-up casting news. We're not saying that Drew McWeeny sounds like the name Ronald McDonald uses to refer to his penis. We're just saying that the guy has probably gotten enough grief in life without having his casting rumors called into question, is all.

The New Mutants were created by Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod. The film is set to be directed by Josh Boone, who is hot off his sophomore film The Fault in Our Stars, so Boone has that young adult market cornered. New Mutants currently has no release date, but you know it must be coming up soon because Rob Liefeld has already started taking credit for its success on Twitter.
