Back in April 2015, it was confirmed that Hasbro was assembling its own shared universe/cinematic universe. As they did for the Transformers cinematic universe, they chose Akiva Goldsman to helm this newly forming universe which started out naming the G.I. Joe and Micronauts properties. That universe then expanded to include ROM, Visionaries, and M.A.S.K. Now Hasbro has announced the creatives that will form the "writers room" for this universe.

A few of the names will be familiar to those who read comics or watch comic movies. Michael Chabon (The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier), Brian K. Vaughan (Runaways, Y: The Last Man, Saga), and Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy movie) are some of the more recognizable names. The other writers are:  Lindsey Beer, Cheo Coker (Netflix Luke Cage showrunner), John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein (writing team on Spider-Man: Homecoming), Joe Robert Cole (Black Panther), Jeff Pinkner, Nicole Riegel, and Geneva Robertson.

Hasbro executive vice president and CCO Stephen Davis wanted to emphasize that it will not just be for boys, which is why they hired a diversity of writers:

"Female empowerment is a central theme through a lot of these properties and one of the reasons we wanted diverse voices"

With G.I. Joe, Micronauts, ROM, Visionaries, and M.A.S.K.? Hmn, okay. We know that Outhouse Ace Reporter Zechs would voice approval for that other Hasbro property, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic being added to the mix, now that would add diversity.

The new writing team will have their first meeting this coming Monday on the Paramount lot.
