Finn's journey to Jakku

The animated Lego Star Wars: The Resistance Risesshorts continue (thanks for reminding us /Film). On Star Wars Day May the 4th, ToysRUs released a new short, this time with the spotlight on FN-2187, who we know now as Finn.

Though not everything in these Lego shorts are canon, this short does seem to follow the basic events leading up to Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In the short, we get to see the scene inside the First Order Transporter first shown in the first The Force Awakens teaser.

The short also features FN-2003, also known as the guy who left the bloody handprint on Finn's helmet (see The Force Awakens second teaser trailer). In the (canon) anthology book Before the Awakening, the Finn short story also featured Finn's behavior toward FN-2003 (aka Slip) that we see in this short.

Here's how the Toys"R"Us site describes the episode:

Short Five: Attack of the Conscience

In the days before the First Order’s attack on Jakku that kicks off The Force Awakens, CAPTAIN PHASMA trains her troops for the assault. Cheering his friends on from the sidelines is FINN, who longs to fight for the First Order. When an accident makes that possible, Finn leaps at the chance to become a full-fledged Stormtrooper, only to have second thoughts… and third, fourth and fifth thoughts about their mission to attack the innocent people of Jakku. As our story ends, Finn is well on his way to becoming the hero of conscience we all root for in The Force Awakens.
