Dead Actor to Rise From Grave For Doctor Who Third Doctor Comic

At least, that's what all of the headlines seem to imply.

Source: Newsarama

According to a Newsarama article claiming "JON PERTWEE's DOCTOR Returns in DOCTOR WHO: THE THIRD DOCTOR," actor Jon Pertwee, who died in 1996, will rise from the grave this August in order to star in a new comic mini-series from Titan Comics. Further reading of the story by talented Newsarama contributor "Newsarama Staff" reveals that "the brand-new five-part comic series, written by fan-favorite Doctor Who scribe Paul Cornell (Wolverine, Action Comics, The Severed Streets), stars the Third Doctor, as played by Jon Pertwee, alongside companions Jo Grant (Katy Manning) and the Brigadier (Nicholas Courtney) in classic Doctor Who action." Manning is the only actor still alive, so Titan must really be breaking out all the stops in order to have so many dead people play characters in a comic book, and that's not even taking into account how actors can "star" in a comic book in the first place! Still, we're not going to look a gift horse in the mouth, so we'll be sure to buy all five variant covers when the first issue hits stores: "three art covers by artists Josh Burns, Simon Myers, and Paul McCaffrey, a photo cover, and a blank sketch cover." The blank sketch cover will come with the ability to bring any dead person back to life by drawing them on the cover and sending out a press release claiming they are "starring" in your comic.
