As the world continues to spiral out of control in the wake of Brexit, there's at least one shining beacon of hope that all is not lost for civilization: a third season for popular canceled cartoon Young Justice. According to a new report that recaps producer Greg Weisman's appearance on a YouTube show, fans should support the show by streaming it on Netflix "as many times as possible," buying new DVDs and Blu Rays, and buying the tie-in comic on comiXology in order to let Warner Bros know there's interest in bringing the show to Netflix:
This is not me blowing smoke. I truly believe it is possible. I want to be clear, I got no guarantee. I don't even work at Warner Bros. anymore. I work at Nickelodeon. But I've had a couple conversations with the folks at Warner Bros., and even a conversation with some folks at Netflix, and I have a basic understanding of how this works. So what I'm offering isn't a guarantee, it's a viable strategy. It's something that is real, that can help us get a third season of the show.
Weisman explained that since the show was canceled because it was funded by the toy line, and the toy line was unsuccessful, fans need to show Warner Bros. that there are other ways to pay for the show:
I don't have any inside information, but it's clear that Warner Bros. and Netflix are at least having a conversation. I don't know if we're close. I don't know if we are far away, but the fact they are talking at all, that's promising. So it's working, but again, it's a long haul. It's a marathon, not a sprint.
So it's a real possibility in the sense that anything at all is a real possibility. But will it actually happen? Will it happen before Warner Bros gives up on DC entirely as their comics and movies keep underperforming? Will it happen right before Trump wins the presidency and luxuries like superhero cartoons cease to exist as the world is pushed to the brink of destruction? Is anyone reading this article all the way to the bottom, or are they just clicking to angrily comment that the picture used up above is from Teen Titans, not Young Justice? We'll have to wait and see.
