HBO Confirms that Character Known for Knowing Nothing Actually Does Know Nothing

Valar Morghulis means Spoiler Warning, right?

Source: Making Game of Thrones

Sunday night brought about "The Winds of Winter" the season finale of the sixth season of HBO's Game of Thrones.  If you haven't watched the finale yet it is strongly recommended that you do so before proceeding any further in this article.  Seriously, go ahead, we'll wait.

You're back?  Good.  The rest of this article will be filled with spoilers so this is your final warning if you do not want to have major elements of the season finale spoiled for you.

While the extra long season finale added several new elements and advanced the plot of the HBO series well past the books, one of the most crucial scenes of "The Winds of Winter" came when Bran Stark used his abilities as the new Three-Eyed Raven to once again glimpse into the past.  As Eddard Stark enters the Tower of Joy, "R+L=J," a longstanding fan theory speculating the identity of Jon Snow's true parents, was finally confirmed.  Or was it?  Some fans of the series were quick to point out that several crucial names were intentionally left out of the scene in question, almost like the show runners intentionally left the scene as vague as possible in order to continue teasing the mystery.

Just as it appeared as though fans of the series would have to continue waiting, Making Game of Thrones, an HBO Blog presumably about the making of Game of Thrones released a handy little infographic which seemingly puts the issue to rest once and for all:

HBO Infographic and Crude Drawing of the Flying Spaghetti Monster

As you can see, the chart clearly...or rather unclearly and totally confusingly confirms that Jon Snow is the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark.  It also takes the time to draw connections between several key characters throughout the series that may or may not still be with us because George R.R. Martin is a cruel, cruel monster who survives upon robbing fans of his series of any joy that they may have through the frequent and unrepentant slaughter of several beloved characters.  Regardless, along with confirming "R+L=J" this infographic also serves as a way to remind all of us that Jon Snow, who we have all come to know as a character who knows nothing, does in fact, know nothing.
