Marvel began promoting their Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. panel at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) with a giant ad slapped on the side of a train in late June. The ad, caused a little interest in comic fans because of the image of a flaming chain, often associated Ghost Rider.
However, in season 3 of the show there was also a character who used a flaming chain, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's version of the comic character, Hellfire. So it left the meaning of the image somewhat up in the air (though non-comic fans wouldn't really be familiar with Hellfire).
Fast-forward to today at SDCC. The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. panel seemed largely to be a look back, with just a tiny bit of news at the end. They just started shooting yesterday so there is no footage yet, but we did get the mystery of the image on the train solved. And yes, if you read the headline to this article, you know it is Ghost Rider.
It wasn't revealed which Ghost Rider would be appearing, but it was later revealed that Gabriel Luna will be playing the role, making it likely that it would be the most recent version, Robbie Reyes. Sorry Nicholas Cage.
Yeah Marvel just said: "Robbie Reyes brings the Spirit of Vengeance to the new season!"
Looks like they are following the comic and giving Reyes a car instead of a bike.
