Baffling readers who don't know whether to completely ignore it or reserve all the tie-ins, Marvel announced a new super-mega-crossover event comic, X-Men/Inhumans: Terregenocide, at San Diego Comic Con today. However, they apparently also revealed that the book will be a digital tie-in to a mobile game, guaranteeing that it will have absolutely no lasting impact on any of the other X-books. The confusion has affected the normally unified comics media, with Bleeding Cool's Rich Johnston calling the title "a second Death of X" book, adding, "pip pip," but Newsarama says, "Although sounding akin to the upcoming Death of X, the publisher tells Newsarama that it is a digital tie-in to the Contest of Champions game."
Scientists from around the world have been flown into the headquarters of Comic Book Resources to try to discover the true nature of the comic, but they have thus far been unable to learn anything other than that the comic will depict "a war between the X-Men and Inhumans over the effects of the Terrigen Mist on mutants' DNA." We'll keep you updated as soon as anyone figures out whether we should give a fuck.
