Stocks of geek culture websites soared Monday when lame duck Doctor Who showrunner Stephen Moffat told Doctor Who Magazine that Peter Capaldi would not leave Doctor Who after next season, ensuring that sites would continue to be able to publish clickbait articles speculating on Capaldi's departure through at least 2018. In celebration of the promised revenue stream, every geek website on the planet published an article with some variation of the headline "Peter Capaldi Not Leaving Doctor Who," though most plan to resume publishing articles wondering whether or not Capaldi will leave the show again as early as next week.

"I have no reason to suppose that I'm writing out a Doctor," Moffat reportedly said. "Peter is loving the role, and long may he do so."

"And we're loving publishing basically the same article wondering when he may depart roughly once per week," said a representative from a top geek culture website. "We're looking forward to publishing approximately 104 more articles like that before switching over to weekly articles speculating on who will be the next Doctor, assuming Capaldi doesn't decide to stick around for another season after that."

At press time, we were all wondering, "Will Peter Capaldi Leave Doctor Who After Season 11?" The only way to get to the bottom of this important question is with dozens more articles about it, so we're going to end this one early and get to work on that.
