After a full decade of nonstop super-mega-crossover events that feature heroes fighting other heroes, Marvel has finally decided to change things up. What? No, of course the heroes won't be fighting the villains. Are you crazy? Heroes will still be fighting heroes, but this time, the heroes they are fighting will be other versions of themselves!

According to a report from Rich Johnston, Marvel Vice President of I Want to Be Your Sledgehammer David Gabriel revealed more info about Marvel's super-mega-crossover event for next spring (that's like five super-mega-crossover events from now, if you're keeping track. Apparently, the "divided we stand" event will have something to do with the following image, and will be based on "the doubling up of characters:"


Can you remember the last time Marvel promoted a comic based on it having a compelling story instead of a lame gimmick? Marvel is the industry leader, people.
