Outhouse Shocker: Disney Planning Future 'Star Wars' & 'Marvel' Films!

To infinity… and beyond

Source: Attention ‘Star Wars’ and Marvel Fans: Disney’s Bob Iger Has Updates for You

Prepare yourself for shocking news true believers… Disney is planning for Star Wars and Marvel movies beyond 2020! This shocking revelation was made by Disney CEO Bob Iger at a talk during the Goldman Sachs Communacopia conference.

Iger said that he met with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and:

"… reviewed — the 'Star Wars' plans that we have 'til 2020" … "We have movies in development for 'Star Wars' 'til then, and we started talking about what we’re going to do in 2021 and beyond."

Who would have thought? It also seems Iger had a talk with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige:

"We had a similar meeting with Marvel a week-and-a-half ago to plot [those films] out, where we’ve got movies in either development or production — some nearing completion — through the end of this decade"… "[There], we too are beginning to talk about what do we do the next decade, and so on?"

Previously Feige did previously mention they had possible plans going to 2028, so it may just be a solidifying of that.

Iger also updated folks on the status of the current Star Wars films soon to be released. He mentioned (which we already knew) that Star Wars VIII was done with principal photography, and also that he got a pitch for IX and that pre-production for that has begun.

Curiously, Iger said of Kennedy's efforts on the Star Wars movies:

"… she’s not just making a 'Star Wars' movie, she’s making a 'Star Wars' universe, of sorts"

On the spin-offs, Iger gave an… interesting… description of this December's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story:

"[it is] really interesting in terms of … storytelling."

Also, in addition to the other "A Star Wars Story" spin-off involving Han Solo, there are plans for another spin-off tale in 2020 with a writer already working on it.

Here are the current plans for upcoming Star Wars movies:

  • Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)
  • Star Wars VIII (12/15/17)
  • Star Wars IX (2019)
  • Han Solo A Star Wars Story (2018?)
  • Untitled A Star Wars Story (2020)

The current plans for upcoming Marvel movies:

  • Doctor Strange (11/04/16)
  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (05/05/17)
  • Spider-Man: Homecoming (07/07/17)
  • Thor: Ragnarok (11/03/17)
  • Black Panther (02/16/18)
  • Avengers: Infinity War (05/04/18)
  • Ant-Man and the Wasp (07/06/18)
  • Captain Marvel (03/08/19)
  • Avengers 4 (05/03/19)
  • Unknown title (05/01/20)
  • Unknown title (07/10/20)
  • Unknown title (11/06/20)

Whew. Enjoy your cinematic future folks, hope you recovered from this shocking news.
