In Understatement of Century, WB Movie Chief Says DC Movies Have

Jeff Bewkes said that the DC characters "have a little more lightness in them than maybe what you saw in those movies."

In an attempt to reassure investors during a Goldman Sachs conference and Hillary Clinton fundraiser Wednesday, Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes took a cinematic universe full of lemons and did his very best to make lemonade. Telling investors that there's "a little room for improvement" on the creative side of DC's movie offerings, Bewkes focused on the nuggets of positivity throughout the vast honey mustard dipping sauce bowl of negative critical response to the films, according to a report from Variety. Bewkes pointed out that reaction to the appearance of Wonder Woman in Superman v. Batman was a big plus, despite the entire rest of the movie being universally reviled by fans and critics. He also promised that despite acceptable box office success, the studio would still attempt to improve the films from a creative standpoint.

"The DC Comics characters ... have a little more lightness in them than maybe what you saw in those movies, so we're thinking about that," Bewkes said in an understatement that ranks amongst the boldest of all time, such as "Alan Moore is less than thrilled with the movie adaptation of Watchmen," "Tom Brevoort can be kind of a jerk sometimes," and "Donald Trump might not make the best president."

Bewkes, who was hanging from a cross alongside other WB executives throughout the conference, ended the presentation with a musical number, of which The Outhouse has obtained EXXXCLUSIVE footage:
