Brisson, Ferrier, Howard, Pires, Rangel, and Sebela Launch New Crowdfunding Cartel

The new "publisher" will basically just cross-promote the Kickstarter campaigns of its founding members.

According to a report from Bleeding Cool, a gaggle of comics creators consisting of six of the following creators - Ed Brisson, Ryan Ferrier, Tini Howard, Curt Pires, Rob Liefeld, Fabian Rangel Jr., and Chris Sebela - will join together to promote each others' Kickstarters under the name Two Headed Press. According to the fawning press release written by Hannah Means-Shannon and published verbatim on Bleeding Cool, Two Headed Press will place "an emphasis on offbeat, transgressive stories delivered to readers through crowdfunding platforms such as Kickstarter." Though Bleeding Cool is calling it a "publisher," the brand apparently won't actually pay to publish comics. Instead, Bleeding Cool reports:

As a "curated" imprint, the individual members of the imprint will run their own Kickstarter campaigns, but will receive the support of other members in "cross-promotion, endorsement and behind the scenes advising to help" with the goal of building "a library of independent, creator-owned comics outside the established circle of publishers."

In other words, they'll retweet each others' links to Kickstarter campaigns and encourage their followers to back them. Kind of like everyone already does right now, except with a brand name slapped on it for good measure. Just look at this sweet, sweet logo:

If that logo doesn't make you want to hand over cash to established comics creators in advance of actually receiving a product, we don't know what will! We mean, that's a serious logo right there. Very legit. Too legit, even.

The first Kickstarter has already launched, Blood Brothers (Los Hermanos Sangre) by Rangel and Javier Caba. The Kickstarter is already more than 100% funded, so Two Headed Press's job is already done. Well done, guys! Nice job. You can go and back it if you want, but Bleeding Cool published basically the entire comic in preview images at the bottom of their article, so you could just read it there for free instead.

Anyway, well, okay. Sounds good, we guess. Good luck to these guys.

Look for more information on Two Headed Press, such as which Kickstarters you should contribute to, what the rewards are, and whether any of the creators will go "outside the box" and start an IndieGogo campaign or a Patreon, at New York Comic Con.
