Although box-office successes, both Batman vs Superman and Suicide Squad were almost universally slammed by critics for being a "fairly good representation of DC Comics' production at the time." In other words "they sucked."
That shall not be the case for Wonder Woman according to the film's Producer, Deborah Snyder, in an interview with Variety:
Wonder Woman' is very different in tone and style than 'Batman v Superman' and 'Suicide Squad
Most pundits agree that as long as that change in tone includes a push towards not making horrible films then Wonder Woman would have to be better than either Batman vs Superman or Suicide Squad.
In the same article Diane Nelson, President of DC Entertainment, is quoted as saying:
There's a misconception that DC or [parent studio] Warner Bros....
OH! OH! Let me guess!
1. That Superman editors are allowed to sexually harass employees?
2. Secretly pays Newsarama's bills?
3. Can't stand Dan Slott any more than the rest of us?
...has made a conscious decision for all our movies to be darker or edgier
That was going to be my next guess.
That's not the case. Fans of the DC universe know that there are characters, like Batman, who are darker, but there are others like Wonder Woman, who are hopeful, optimistic leaders, and the tone of this film represents that.
Yea, ok, sure.
And, according to Variety's Brent Lang:
One aspect of the character that will remain front and center is her feminist zeal. Wonder Woman was created by William Moulton Marston as a personification of gender equality — costumed proof that women can land a punch and strike a blow for the common good.
If, even after paid representatives of the multi-national cooperation have been quoted as saying that Wonder Woman will be a good movie, you still have doubts then we just don't know what to tell you.
