Yesterday, we reported on Marvel's likely plans to finally bring Wolverine back from the dead in their upcoming super-mega-crossover event, ErXtile DysfunXion, with a new series called Weapon X. Today, the latest new series announcement from Marvel (which we totally predicted yesterday - pip pip) shows that the company may have a larger plan in place. Yes, Jean Grey is seemingly coming back in a self-titled series, which means that Marvel can finally get back to their favorite pastime of the 2000s, shipping Wolverine and Jean Grey.
"Squeeeeeeeee!" said Marvel Editor in Chief Axel Alonso in a press release announcing Grey's return.
At press time, no creative team had yet been announced for the book, just like yesterday's Weapon X, which indicates these comics will be produced by the "Marvel Method," which is a method of creating comics where Editorial and Marketing come up with all the ideas, and then later they bring on some mercenary writers and artists to execute the marketing strategy. The series comes out in the Spring, which should be plenty of time for the creative team Marvel hires to complete it on time, right?
ErXtile DysfunXion is a Marvel Comics event that centers around Jason Aaron's inability to get a boner ever since Wolverine died. Look for Marvel to finally prove once and for all that Wolverine is the sexiest stud of all time who everyone wants to have sex with early next year, probably for $5.99 an issue.
