As part of Marvel's "announce a shitload of new X-books without naming a single creative team" initiative, the publisher revealed on Twitter that Generation X will be returning next spring as part of Marvel's upcoming IntellXual Property Xploitation event. Originally created in the 90s by Scott Lobdell and Chris Bachalo, the then-relevant title brought a new team of new mutants into the X-franchise, not to be confused with the first group of new mutants, who were actually called the New Mutants. Of course, most of the original Generation X team are dead, missing, or vampires by this point, so the teaser art appears to feature various teams of new mutants including the original New Mutants and later teams of New Mutants as well. Of course, technically, these are all old mutants, but that makes it perfect for a title that stopped being relevant about 20 years ago. Also, it's hard to come up with new artwork when your creative team consists of the editorial and marketing departments.
