Marvel somehow forgot our number, but we got wind of their press call promoting their upcoming event, Monsters Unleashed. For those not in the know, Monsters Unleashed will be a 5-issue series that pits a bunch of superhero teams (eg. Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Champions, and *gasp* X-Men) shockingly working together against hordes of giant monsters.
Some of the hero characters mentioned that will make an appearance include Captain America, Moon Girl, Elsa Bloodstone, and Riri Williams. During the Q&A portion of the event, it was asked if Elsa Bloodstone's brother, Cullen Bloodstone (who can turn into a giant monster), would be making an appearance. Senior Editor Mark Paniccia just said that it was an "astute" question. The cover to Monsters Unleashed #3 shows a young boy, currently unidentified, who will play a key role in the story.

Marvel did spoil the event by saying that the solution to the monster problem provides lessons that will have a lasting effect on the Marvel Universe. Also as a result of the event "the classic Marvel monsters are big players in the Marvel Universe" and will be "sticking around". Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso also said that there are plans to have "at least" two series spin out of this event.
