Last week we heard some rumblings about Michelle Yeoh (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; Marco Polo) possibly being cast in the upcoming Star Trek: Discovery series. Well, today that rumor turned out to be true. But that's not all! StarTrek.com announced, not one, but three actors joining the series.

Yeoh will be playing Captain Georgiou, who commands the Starfleet ship Shenzhou. No further information was released about the character.

Also joining the show is Doug Jones (Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth) will be playing Starfleet science officer Lt. Saru. Jones will (shockingly) be portraying an alien new to the Star Trek universe.

Anthony Rapp (A Beautiful Mind, Rent) has been cast as Lt. Stamets. Stamets is an astromycologist, aka. fungus expert (cue "fun guy" joke) and science officer aboard the U.S.S. Discovery. He is the first crewmember of the Discovery cast (though the main character of the show has been described as a Discovery crewmember nd may be nicknamed "Number One").

Star Trek: Discovery will debut on CBS in May and then gets slingshot to the CBS All Access sector of the Delta Quadrant.
