Don't expect him back on the show any time soon.

"Financial considerations" are among the reasons that Ghost Rider's last appearance was in the mid-season finale of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. We'll have to take TV Line's word that he appeared in the episode, as none of The Outhouse staff are masochistic enough to watch.

The cost of physically lighting actors' heads on fire over and over for each scene has been a burden on the budget and the actors' safety, so the series has shifted gears to focusing on Life Model Decoys, robots that duplicate all outward aspects of a living person.

In an EXXXCLUSIVE, showrunner Joss Whedon's brother said, "With all the money we're saving by not having Ghost Rider appear, we can go back to actual donuts at catering instead of those mini powdered ones."
