According to My Entertainment World, the sequel to what Valnet Inc. Presents CBR called a "surprise hit", despite it having Marvel in the opening sequence, Ant-Man and The Wasp starts filming in June in Atlanta, where Ant-Man, Captain America: Civil War, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and Spider-Man: Homecoming also filmed. The studio will also be the main filming location for Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther.
This film is the first time a female character gets billing in the title, beating Captain Marvel by a year.
Ant-Man and The Wasp is directed by Peyton Reed, from a script by Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari. Opening July 6, 2018, the film stars Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, and Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne.
