First Look at 'Teen Titans: Judas Contract' Animated Movie!

The good news. Warner Bros. Animation is finally adapt this classic comic tale. The bad news? It's part of their New 52 animated universe, and not stand alone apparently.

With Batman & Justice League: Dark about to premiere soon on Blu-Ray, DVD, & Digital, as always Warner Bros. Animation gives a teaser for the next DC Animated movie. The next one (probably going to be out spring of this year) will be Teen Titans: Judas Contract, a somewhat adaptation of the classic Teen Titans story of the same name.

Much like last year's Batman: The Killing Joke, this was a much-demanded story to be adapted. In fact, it was several years ago, before being yanked. Unlike last year's, this installment appears to not fully be a direct adaptation. Oh yes, Terra will be the focus (voiced by Christina Ricci) and Deathstroke will be the main antagonist as well (Miguel Ferrer in probably his final animated voice role. Tragically, just hours after this was announced, media learned that the actor had passed away. Though, more on Ferrer's career in a later article).

The difference will be that this story will take place in the "New 52" animated universe that Warner Bros. Animated has been playing with since Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox (2011). So all the actors from the previous New 52 animated films reprise their roles: Nightwing (Sean Maher), Starfire (Kari Wahlgren), Raven (Taissa Farmiga), Beast Boy (Brandon Soo Hoo), Blue Beetle (Jake T. Austin), and Robin/Damian Wayne (Stuart Allan) So yes, Warners Bros. Animation department hasn't gotten that "Rebirth" notice yet.

It's quite curious as to why they're going this route, other than probably not being 100% faithful to the original story (as is mostly the cast for basically all the stories the "New 52" films have adapted. Maybe it's for the best given how "receptive" audiences were of Batman: Killing Joke movie.

Here are two teaser images from the movie (via The Hollywood Reporter):

Teen Titans: The Judas Contract will be direct by Sam Liu (a mainstay in DC animated movies), from a story by Ernie Altbacker (staff writer of Green Lantern: The Animated Series, and writer of Justice League: Dark), and screenplay by: Altbacker and J. M. DeMatteis (another mainstay of New 52 films).
