Todd McFarlane Says New Spawn Movie Will Be More Rated R Than Logan Or Deadpool

He wants to see the film as a hard, dark R, unlike Deadpool or Logan.

At the Saturday afternoon Stan Lee/Todd McFarlane during Emerald City Comic Con, McFarlane let slip a few details about the new Spawn film. Moderator Clare Kramer asked him about the possibility of the film happening.

I'm hoping by San Diego I have a big announcement, of, uh, a Spawn movie, right? So, a big announcement coming. We're working on it.

So, he announced that he'll be announcing a Spawn movie during San Diego. He also said that he would want to see it as a hard, dark R level rating. He then explained that if you've got PG-13 on stage left, and Deadpool around center stage, and Logan about halfway to the right of center, then Spawn would be a good deal further over to the right.

Expect the new Spawn movie to feature something worse than Wolverine stabbing people in the face.
