Variety's film reporter Justin Kroll took to Twitter yesterday to comment on DC's current movie situation.
With BATMAN likely shooting in 2018, WB still would like one more DC property to shoot this year other than AQUAMAN— Justin Kroll (@krolljvar) March 16, 2017
It would be smart of DC to get the ball rolling on another movie, seeing as they having many in the early stages of production.
The 5 films being considered are SIRENS, FLASH, LANTERN, SQUAD 2 and DARK UNIVERSE.— Justin Kroll (@krolljvar) March 16, 2017
Gotham City Sirens has been announced with David Ayer to direct. The Flash doesn't have a director attached. Might be hard to film without one. Green Lantern is still casting for the lead. Suicide Squad 2 just picked up a writer, but doesn't have a director, though it could still be Mel fucking Gibson. Dark Universe is still a pipe dream.
That said if scripts aren't ready to go, studio is content just shooting AQUAMAN this year till films are ready to go— Justin Kroll (@krolljvar) March 16, 2017
Wrapping up, it would also be smart for DC to not start filming before scripts are ready.
