During a Disney presentation at CinemaCon last night, a slide was shown which displayed the main cast for the Black Panther movie. Though a lot of cast members have been announced for the movie, there were a couple of previously unknown/unconfirmed members.

First the previously knowns:

We've got Ryan Coogler in the role of "Director"…

What's that?

Oh oops. Ryan Coogler, of course, is the director of the Black Panther movie. Next up is the star of the movie, you've seen him in action in Captain America: Civil War, Chadwick Boseman  as the Black Panther. The next three cast members, Danai Gurira (Okoye), Lupita Nyong'o (Nakia), and Michael B. Jordan (Erik Killmonger) were revealed at San Diego Comic-Con 2016. Like Boseman, Martin Freeman will be reprising his role as Everett K. Ross in Black Panther. The last previously confirmed castmember from the slide is Forest Whitaker who plays Zuri, an elder statesman in Wakanda.

Newly revealed is the character of Shuri, who will be played by Letitia Wright (Urban Hymn).

Shuri was introduced to the 616 Marvel Universe in issue #2 of Black Panther volume 4. She is younger half-sister of T'Challa (aka. Black Panther) and eventually took over the Black Panther mantle for a short time starting in volume 5 of Black Panther.

We don't know if Shuri will follow this path in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Finally, we expected it, and there was some evidence for it, but it is now confirmed that Andy Serkis will be returning in the role of Ulysses Klaue, who first appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Black Panther leaps to theaters February 16, 2018.
