Valiant Releases Beer To Pair With Their Comics

Because you have to be drinking to read X-O Manowar.

In a move that is in no way a remark on the amount of inebriation you need to be at to read their comics, Valiant Comics has teamed with Pipeworks Brewing to launch an X-O Manowar-themed beer at C2E2 called Galactic Golden Ale. The beer is somehow inspired by Aric's journey of conquest on an alien world.

"All of us at Pipeworks Brewing Co. are very excited to offer up a juicy, dry-hopped golden ale brewed in collaboration with Valiant Entertainment," said Pipeworks Brewing Co.'s Kate Brankin. "The beer was made with Galaxy hops and a yeast that lends incredible tropical notes. We couldn't be happier with how it turned out. This craft beer pairs excellently with a well-crafted story arc and beautiful artwork. And we're proud that a portion of all proceeds from this collaboration will benefit Hope for the Day, an organization that focuses on suicide prevention and mental health education through self-expression platforms."

Fans can taste the beer on Friday, April 21st at the X-O Manowar Galactic Golden Ale Release Party, which takes place from 7 to 11 pm CT at the Cobra Lounge (235 N. Ashland Ave, Chicago, IL 60607). The first 75 fans who show up will receive a limited X-O Manowar (2017) #1 cover flat, which was pulled directly from the printing press and features signatures from Valiant staff and creators. There will be a 5$ door charge, but some of that and any money from the pints poured at the event will go to Hope for the Day, an organization that works in suicide prevention outreach and mental health projects.
