From the Star-Wars-cartoon-you-may-not-have-remembered department, it's being announced today that LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures is getting a second season. The first season debuted in the Summer of 2016, and followed the story of the Freemaker siblings -- Kordi (Vanessa Lengies), Zander (Eugene Byrd), and young Rowan Freemaker (Nicolas Cantu) -- who began as salvagers and end up involved in the conflict between the Empire and Rebllion. Though it's unclear whether this story is in canon, it is set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, and features several characters who appeared in non-LEGO Star Wars movies.

One of those characters is Admiral Ackbar (Trevor Devall) who, at the end of season one, invited the Freemakers to join the Rebellion. Season two picks up after that:

At the end of the first season, the Freemaker family found a new home with the rebel fleet. Their new circumstances bring them face to face with brutal Imperial forces, desperate Hutts, conniving Sith Lords, and the Emperor’s latest plaything, M-OC, a terrifying hunter droid who continually modifies himself to fit any occasion. In response to these threats, Rowan’s powers grow and strengthen until he has a vision of a sleek, invulnerable ship that can save the Rebellion and stop the Empire in its tracks — the Arrowhead. The catch is, the Arrowhead is a ship only Rowan can build. Once again, it’s up to the youngest Freemaker to save the galaxy.

Unlike the LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens  shorts, The Freemaker Adventures are full ~22 minute episodes. However, to prepare fans for Freemaker season two, five shorts will be released bridging the gap between the two seasons. The shorts will debut on Star Wars Day, Wednesday May the fourth on Disney XD.

Here's a trailer for season two:

So while you wait for Star Wars Rebels  season four, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi in December, you can feel the excitement build with LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures season two.
