Brian Keene announced on Twitter today that he will once again be writing for one of the Big Two publishers.
Rumors are true. Doing a Big 2 project again. But unlike Spencer & Slott I won't tell you how to vote or how to feel. Or punch you like Waid— BrianKeene (@BrianKeene) April 19, 2017
Keene did not way which company it was, but we at The Outhouse have been able to narrow it down to either Marvel or DC. This marks the first time the 2014 World Horror Convention Grand Master has worked with a top publisher since leaving Future's End in 2013.
Though Keene may be pushing back at comics, don't expect him at conventions anytime soon. The writer previously held his "Farewell Tour" in which he held book signings across the US for the last time. While Keene claimed this was for self-care and family reasons, sources close to The Outhouse are told he was simply out of clean Hawaiian shirts to wear in public.
Since the initial statement, Keene has clarified his work with the company is not long term.
Don't get too excited, gang. It's just a one-shot thing. Can't say anymore about it at this point, though. And Team @judeterror 4 Life!— BrianKeene (@BrianKeene) April 19, 2017
Don't get too excited? Clearly Keene does not understand how comics work. So let me suggest an alternative tweet:
This book will shatter the universe and force our heroes to reconsider their role in society. It is the most important brilliant issue ever. Buy the tie-ins.
You're welcome, Brian.
