After what could be considered at best a palatable chicken parmesan and pasta, the Idle family was asked to join the Jefferson's in the den for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Despite the uncomfortable glances that the family of four passed each other, they ultimately agreed and sat down to watch the show, bringing its ratings up by 14%. Despite multiple attempts, the Idles were unable to excuse themselves early from the episode and watched the entirety of the ABC action drama.
"The Jefferson are our biggest fans," said showrunner Joss Whedon's brother, "They regularly risk friendships to help us in the ratings and we appreciate it. I know for a fact on more than one occasion they have been excommunicated by circles of friends for forcing others to watch this program."
"It's really an honor," said fellow show runner Joss Whedon's brother's wife, "All three of us, as showrunners, just feel blessed to have someone who would risk their social lives to share this show with others. Even if it means putting their friends through a grueling 40 minutes of failed synergy, plus commercials."
"I work on the show too," said some guy with no relation to Joss Whedon.
While it is unknown if the Idle's will break contact with the Jefferson's, the family has decided that they will no longer be visiting the family for meals. Instead the Idle's have placed their children in various extra curricular activities to always have an excuse on hand going forward.
